THE WORLD IS IN OUR HANDS
Reflecting on the experience of this project
This project made me think a lot about the future of our planet. This is because the way that Google describes the climate change and what can happen to our planet from pollution and many other things is kind of scary. People don’t take the global warming and climate change seriously; therefore the plant keeps getting worse. I took a survey on this website called “Ecological footprint” and it was about that if the world would live my everyday life, we wouldn’t need 3 to 4 worlds. Therefore this is bad because we only have 1 world, there’s no other world then ours.
From this project I learned to take little steps to making the world a better place. Those steps are involving everyday life; to decrease the use of water, lightening (electricity), and to save energy as well. Also another way to save energy or to help “better the world” is to instead of taking the car, it’s better to walk, or riding a bicycle to school.
These steps helped me improve my lifestyle way, ( taken from my old Post):
Reducing powered products in your house:
1. Turn your refrigerator down. Put the temperature at least 37 degrees.
2. Set your clothes washer to the warm or cold water setting, not hot. You will save the power of water.
3. Make sure your dishwasher is full when you run it and use the energy saving setting, if available, to allow the dishes to air dry.
4. Turn down your water heater thermostat.
5. Select the most energy-efficient models when you replace your old appliances.
If every person followed the steps, little by little the world can become a better place, it would make big of a difference because of pollution still in the air, but it still would of make a little improvement on the planet. Doing this project helped me reflect on many things like I said before; it helped my mom on saving money because the bills were really high. Now they’re not as high because we are really strict on the lightning in the house and the TV and laptop use in the house, our electricity bill always be really high, and for that this project helped me reflect in my life.
As we all know we are going to run out of oil in a few years, decades. So if we repeat the steps of our daily life, the oil rates will decrease therefore we will have more oil for the future. This project helped me thi9nk of how we don’t need to waste everything that we have, for example: if we have 2 phones and you use both phones, cut down the other phone and only use one, try to decrease anything that pollutes the air, because even if we use and buy more phones, that’s polluting the air because the factories produce it which pollutes the air. That’s another thing I looked up factories are always going to be there no matter what because that is how stuff is produced, that’s a problem to the leading generation.
Have you tryed reducing power in your house? and if so what did you reduce?
